Darth Bane: Path of Destruction is thus far the only novel which take place in the Old Republic era. Consequently, it is the only hardcover novel that features no one from any of the Star Wars films. However, Its sequel Darth Bane: Rule of Two takes place after the Seventh Battle of Ruusan, placing it within the Rise of the Empire era.
