Giving him an audience is possibly wrong, happening similarly today with the attention paid to the Norwegian mass killer Breivik. But probably each viewer, even the dumb one, can measure (perhaps even better) what has happened then and that each crime has its real seconds before, while and afterwards. Film Review - 2009 - Harry Brown

I first discovered this film while researching Brutalist architecture: one of my many passions. It was shot on location at Heygate Estate, a large housing project in South London built in 1974 that deteriorated over the years and was in the process of being demolished during filming. I have always found these sorts of large nearly self-contained building developments to be rather tragic in that their genesis was based around a modern, almost Utopian belief in a better lifestyle for the low income families that were to occupy them. This film, a sort of Charles Bronson meets J.G. Ballard exercise, picks up at the very end of this housing experiment that was usually depicted a bit more hygienic, though equally dystopically, in the films of the late sixties and early seventies such as 'Fahrenheit 451', 'A Clockwork Orange',the Orson Welles film of Kafka's 'The Trial' and 'Conquest of the Planet of the Apes', due to the fact that their architectures looked so futuristic at the time. To me, they still do and so I often search out documentation of these places in film, photograph or architectural review. What I loved most about the film was the sense of place that was conveyed and as I watched the film I felt as though I was experiencing the architecture as powerfully as I did in the film 'My Architect'.

That being said, the story itself was quite entertaining, and as I mentioned above, sort of reminded me of a J.G. Ballard interpretation of 'Death Wish'. There are also comparisons to the excellent Eastwood film 'Gran Torino' and this is more than fair; Though in the end the two films definitely possess their own merits for viewing. I would recommend 'Harry Brown' to any fan of the vigilante genre as the London setting, the architecture and the nuances of the film are different enough from most American members of this genre to bring a freshness to the table.

Why did I have to do this you ask? 1 - I have OCD. 2 - When Disney released the soundtrack they did not release a fully complete soundtrack in any one place. They released different versions of the soundtrack on itunes and on amazon and on the nokia site. After finally tracking down all of the tracks I was able to put together this tracklist. Waste of time? Undoubtedly. The right thing to do? Yes, I enjoy listening to this soundtrack immensely so it is worth it. My payback? I replaced the official Disney Tron: Legacy album cover with the fan-made one shown above.

I am crazy, emotional and in love with a 77 year old woman

I am a middle-aged man who is preoccupied with comic books and death. I keep seeing things that remind me of my own mortality, and I suppose it is part of getting older, seeing the crest of the hill that we climb. My parents are in their mid-sixties and they tell me it feels no different inside an old body than it did when they were young people, that they are still those people inside. It must be hard to know you are moving ever closer to the end of your life, when the expectancy is what now, eighty? Have we gotten there yet? Or is it still seventy-five, like when I was a little kid and that age seemed so far away, not less than half? I am preoccupied with the desire for immortality, and based on popular culture a lot of people feel the same way. Vampires can live seemingly forever, and people desire the romantic notion that if one were to be murdered by a blood drinking creature that somehow passes on their illness to you, then one would be beautiful and powerful and desirable. I don't want to die but we can't do shit about it. It will happen.

I see these television shows and movies that have some architectural time stamp. Buildings with their facades or their interiors that remind me of a time not so long ago. But it is before my time. These images haunt me, for they are the representation of death to me. I fear them in a way. I would like to see them burned to the ground, bulldozed and forgotten. Thankfully it is rare that I see them in person, and so I can move about my day without the reminder of mortality too often. We are too idle, this country is too rich and we have too many needless things that keep us from realizing death is a moment away. Drugs and drinking are a pastime, while America tries to stop the feelings of helplessness. As a society we are contributing to the illusion that all is right in the world and we will continue buying and selling, world without end. Amen My feelings of self-loathing, and having no purpose, continue. Books and stories occupy my time and the television and movies help keep my mind off of what is outside and how I can avoid doing what is productive, both personally and socially. My community seems to mean nothing right now, for I am an island without need of the outside world.

I am in love with Julie Newmar. I have been since I was five years old. This woman that I do not know has aged as well. I see her image on the old Batman television series and my heart leaps. At the end of one episode when Catwoman is in custody, she swoons for Batman, and they almost kiss. I imagine she must look something like that when she is in love. She is now 77. Talk about an awkward first date. I wonder if she still gets hit on by fanboys at comic conventions. It must crack her up. I would like to think that given the opportunity I would be a gentleman and not lay down with an elderly woman. My focus should be on bettering myself and thinking globally. I would so totally bang that old lady though.

I think that what I remember most about John Lennon was when he said that his son Julian was "...still my son, whether he came from a bottle of whiskey or because they didn't have pills in those days." The amount of respect and love that the man showed for his own son was so utterly mind boggling that the words of his hit song 'Imagine' just held such resonance for me. Here is a man that not only left his first wife for another woman but also had an affair while married to Yoko Ono. Here is a man that neglected his son so much that his band mate Paul wrote 'Hey Jude' to make Julian feel somewhat better. What an incredible legacy that John Lennon left. My memories of Lennon can be summed up with the age old adage "Do as I say, not as I do."

John Lennon saved my life.At a very critical and desperate time of my young life,I contemplated suicide.My life was a living hell,a step father,[now Deceased]was torturing me at every turn in every way YOU can Imagine.I would put on my big ,clunky headphone and listen to my 8-track tapes of the Beatles from early Beatles to later 70's stuff.I drew so much strength and gain perspective,that this is not going to be my un-doing,but rather build my person to be what it is today.A strong minded,independent thinking individual.I listen to the lyrics,especial John's.The Lyrics spoke to my soul.I am here quite literally because of a particular night,all alone,listening to the Beatles,contemplating leaving this world behind,but instead something happened,while hearing the words,feeling the melody,and reading about the lives of the lads from Liverpool,I had a change of heart.If you were hear today,John,I would tell you ...Thank you.Dorinda Frye,Tampa,Florida

My mother made John Lennon’s, 1964 Rickenbacker Guitar.
My mother... Dorothy J. Tandle was working at RIC back in February 1964.
When Francis C. Hall got back from Miami, after talking to John, Paul and Ringo.
F.C. Hall presented Lennon with a new 325 to replace his road weary 1958 one during the group's first trip to New York City. John used the new guitar on The Beatles second Sullivan appearance and on the group's subsequent tours and albums.
My mother was asked to follow Lennon’s Custom guitar from start to finish.
This was the Black & White semi-hollow bodied “Miami” model (serial number db122, d=1964, b=Feb.).
She sanded the body, then worked on the neck & fret board,
then she assembled the guitar after the finish was applied.
She did all the work herself.
She did the same for many custom orders at that time.
She was trained in all areas except the wood shop and finishes.
She did all the sanding, fret board assembly, and put all the other pieces on John Lennon’s Custom 325.
After finishing the guitar, she gave it to the tuner/inspector. He asked my mother “Since you built it, what song would you like to hear?” My mother said…“Peanut Butter And Jelly”.
That was a song she wrote and the tuner knew the cords. My mother sang the song as it was being played. SO… The very first song ever played on John Lennon’s famous 325 was a song my mother wrote about the messes I made as a child.
There is a “GREEN” check mark inside the guitar.
My mom made virtually all the famous guitars of that era.
Harrison & McGuinns 12 strings. Pete Townsend & John Entwistle and many others.
Mom is 80 years old and lives in SO Cal.

A Boomer at work once told me that 'Your generation doesn't care about anything'. I responded by saying 'we care, but we don't delude ourselves into thinking that if we throw a big pot party in the mud we'll stop war and poverty.'

The Monkees started the film 'Head' by jumping off of a bridge as an answer to the general consensus that they were nothing but a novelty act. It was a veritable rebirth from prefabrication to true artistic expression. The most misunderstood band of the era.

Reportedly the film was called 'Head' in hopes that if a sequel came out the poster would read 'from the band that gave you Head'.

Michael Nesmith punched a hole in the wall of his producers home mere inches from his head when he was told that the band could not control its own artistic output.

Been revisiting one of my all time favorite masters of storytelling, Enki Bilal, I just finished reading this graphic novel today (and it will be going in the mail for Greg this weekend):

Born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, to a Slovak mother and a Bosnian father who had been Josip Broz Tito's tailor, he moved to Paris at the age of 9.^[1] At age 14, he metRené Goscinny and with his encouragement applied his talent to comics. He produced work for Goscinny's comics magazine Pilote in the 1970s, publishing his first story, Le Bol Maudit, in 1972.

In 1975, Bilal began working with script writer Pierre Christin on a series of dark and surreal tales, resulting in the body of work titled Légendes d'Aujourd'hui.

He is best known for the Nikopol trilogy (La Foire aux Immortels, La Femme Piège and Froid Équateur), which took more than a decade to complete. Bilal wrote the script and did the artwork. The final chapter, Froid Équateur, was chosen book of the year by the magazine Lire and is acknowledged by the inventor of chess boxing,Iepe Rubingh as the inspiration for the sport.

Bilal's most recent publication is Quatre? (2007), the last book in the Hatzfeld tetralogy, which deals with the breakup of Yugoslavia from a future viewpoint.

His cinematic career has recently been revived with the expensive Immortel (Ad Vitam) which is his first attempt to adapt his books to the screen.

On May 13, 2008 a video game based on the Nikopol trilogy was announced entitled Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals.

I really cannot express how much I have gotten out of Mr. Bilal's works. I feel that the man is a complete genius. His art has such a flow to it, like a true master of his form it seems so effortless and organic, and his storytelling is able to be fantastical while still being a legitimate commentary on modern life in general. I probably miss many subtleties of his commentary in that I am an American and cannot comprehend the European mindset that he is coming from yet this does not stop me from finding the ultimate humanity of it all.

I find him to be a perfect candidate for my Artistic Heroes Series. Stay tuned, I plan on doing a piece on every major influence on my own artistic works (as well as my lifestyle and fashion sense - as Mr. Bilal has proved to be).

Ultimately I would like to do my own sort of 'Trading Card' art for each artist that will be featured here but I wanted to get this post up post haste.

There used to be a Mexican restaurant downtown. They then began to serve Japanese food as well as Mexican. This seemed very 'William Gibson' to me - the mixture of the two cultures. Later, they stopped the Mexican all together and turned it into a sushi bar. Anyway, one night, after returning home from the record story with my copy of the Tori Amos 'Professional Widow' CD Single I stopped off for some Mexican food. The guy behind the counter was stoked I had the CD. He loved the remix and said that Armand van Helden was 'the fucking shit mang - I mean, this guy knows his beats mo-fucker'. I always thought that cover was ultra-sexy as well...

I am so looking forward to the show tomorrow, I think we'll have a few more things to say! One thing that's been bugging me is the cover to the latest issue of Batgirl. Now, I realize how nerdy it is to be totally head over heels in love with a pretend person, and a superhero at that, but I have always had a fond place in my heart for the latest incarnation of Batgirl, Stephanie Brown. She originally was a character named "The Spoiler" and was killed off in 2004 or so, during the Batman "War Games" run. Of course in typical DC fashion, and to my delight, it was revealed that she faked her death on the order of Batman himself. So gay. Anyway, if you're still reading this I was also delighted to find that she is the new Batgirl. I purchased the latest DC Direct action figure modeled after her this week, new costume and all. Jesus, I don't know why I'm sharing this except for the fact that I want to amuse Kurt and hopefully a few of you out there. Now, on to the cover.

The top image is the finished product, and although I understand why they added the word balloon and wording at the bottom, I was disappointed. They approved the cover, as disturbing as it is, then obviously added the word balloon and her emphasis on it being "gross", when the look of terror on her face says a lot more as the clay slowly creeps up her body, almost molesting her. I was shocked when I first saw it and really couldn't believe they would use it, but they found a way around it, to take the "piss out of it" so to speak. Anyway, not sure if this garners an actual discussion on what is censorship, and if this is a way to market a book to a younger audience, perhaps a female one at that. I imagine a teenage girl would take one look at that piece of art and head towards the manga section of a comic shop. Well, if we know anything about comics, it's that the marketing is niche and will likely stay that way until it's run into the ground, sputtering and worn, broken and useless, muttering, "They used to keep my work in plastic bags...."

Tatlin's Constructivist tower was to be built from industrial materials: iron, glass and steel. In materials, shape, and function, it was envisaged as a towering symbol of modernity. It would have dwarfed the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The tower's main form was a twin helix which spiraled up to 400 m in height, which visitors would be transported around with the aid of various mechanical devices. The main framework would contain four large suspended geometric structures. These structures would rotate at different rates of speed. At the base of the structure was a cube which was designed as a venue for lectures, conferences and legislative meetings, and this would complete a rotation in the span of one year. Above the cube would be a smaller pyramid housing executive activities and completing a rotation once a month. Further up would be a cylinder, which was to house an information centre, issuing news bulletins and manifestos via telegraph, radio and loudspeaker, and would complete a rotation once a day. At the top, there would be a hemisphere for radio equipment. There were also plans to install a gigantic open-air screen on the cylinder, and a further projector which would be able to cast messages across the clouds on any overcast day.

Tatlin achieved fame as the architect who designed the huge Monument to the Third International, also known as Tatlin's Tower. Planned in 1920, the monument, was to be a tall tower in iron, glass and steel which would have dwarfed the Eiffel Tower in Paris (the Monument to the Third International was a third taller at 1,300 feet high). Inside the iron-and-steel structure of twin spirals, the design envisaged three building blocks, covered with glass windows, which would rotate at different speeds (the first one, a cube, once a year; the second one, a pyramid, once a month; the third one, a cylinder, once a day). High prices prevented Tatlin from executing the plan, and no building such as this was erected in his day.

Tatlin was also regarded as a progenitor of Russian post-Revolutionary Constructivist art with his pre-Revolutionary counter-reliefs — structures made of wood and iron for hanging in wall corners. He conceived these sculptures in order to question the traditional idea of painting, though he did not regard himself as a Constructivist and objected to many of the movement's ideas. Later prominent constructivists included Varvara Stepanova, Alexander Rodchenko, Manuel Rendón Seminario, Joaquín Torres García, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Antoine Pevsner and Naum Gabo.

Here I am, first post from ole Greg at the Outer Channel. Just saw a silly you tube video via lolcats with a dancing poodle puppy. So cute. I'll spare you the visual, you can search it out if you really, really need it. Anyway, we're back up to speed on the show and as usual it gets hot and heavy at blogtalkradio. 1. iPhoneSluts- I love my iPhone, and I really love sluts, so this podcast available at iTunes is where it's at. It's free, it's silly girls rating apps and they curse like we do so you should check em out.

2. Comixology- this is a website, and more importantly it's an app for the iPhone, giving you a list of Wednesday's books and lets you create a pull list. Very geeky.

3. Whores- I love whores.

4. Top Shot- The season finale was Sunday, a competition reality game show on the History Channel: Guns, Guns and more Guns. Shoot, shoot, shoot motherfucker!

5. Man Wife Wild- A reality survival show in the spirit of Survivorman and Man vs Wild featuring a married couple showing how to survive in the wilderness in different environments. The wife's hot, it's on Discovery and it fits in the genre of survival instructional entertainment.

Factory Girl Director on Murphy Husband Simon Monjack: 'A Con Man and a Bad Guy'

The sad, startling death of Brittany Murphy raises many questions about the actress’s health and mental state in the months leading up to it. As we mentioned earlier, as recently as last April she was thin, but in seemingly good, fake-Limey spirits on a visit to The Late Late Show. But The Wrap reports that more recently the actress had been fired from The Caller, a horror film shooting in Puerto Rico, and that on another recent shoot — for an indie thriller called Something Wicked — Murphy was reportedly unfocused and barely able to complete her takes. The LA County Coroner said “foul play is not suspected,” despite the presence of investigators at her home. (No illegal substances were found, but “a lot” of prescription drugs were.) And TMZ reports that in the hours before her death the actress was “very ill … with flu-like symptoms,” and had been vomiting Sunday morning. An autopy is currently underway, notably against the wishes of her husband Simon Monjack. And what of Monjack, the actual-Limey screenwriter credited with writing and producing 2006’s Factory Girl, who himself had his own emergency brushes with death? Well, according to Girl director George Hickenlooper, Monjack is a “con man and a bad guy” who embezzled $150k from the film’s budget.

In two comments posted to Hollywood Elsewhere in the hours since Murphy’s death, the director minced no words in his description of Monjack as a career criminal and destructive influence, about whom he’d warned Murphy on multiple occasion.

The first comment:

Simon Monjack did not produce Factory Girl. He sued his way onto the project for a title and stole 150K out of my budget. He is a con man and a bad guy. When Brittany married him I warned her and warned her as did so many others. I only hope to God that this creep wasn’t instrumental in her sad sad demise. What a wonderful wonderful girl she was. I really really cared for her.

In a second, longer comment posted five hours later, Hickenlooper detailed the lawsuit Monjack brought against him that held Factory “hostage,” and a telephone exchange with Murphy — whom he calls a “sweet angel” and “underrated actress” — in which she begged him to take down an anti-Monjack comment he had posted to IMDb.

Simon Monjack nothing to do with ‘Factory Girl’ or the screenplay. He filed a frivolous lawsuit against us weeks before principal photography making bogus claims that we had stolen his script. He held us literally hostage and we were forced to settle with him as he held our production over a barrel. I posted this information on IMDB two years ago in order to warn people because Monjack was using his Factory Girl “credit” to solicit and then steal money from other investors. Then one night at three in the morning Brittany Murphy (who was a good friend and a girl I had come close to casting as Edie Sedgwick) called me in tears, begging me to take this posting down. It was going to ruin her husband. I told Brittany it was the truth and warned her, as many other did, about Monjack who had a criminal record and a long, long list of legal complaints against him. In the end I told Brittany I would do it for her and remove the post because I really cared for her as a friend. The last thing I told Brittany is “Do you know who this guy is? I mean do you really know him. Do you know what you’re doing by marrying him?” At this point Brittany became angry and told me she knew Monjack better than anyone and then hung up on me. A few months later I tried to call her to see if she was alright and Monjack would not let me speak to her. I so so feared something bad would happen. I thought he might take her for all her money. Little did I know she would end up dead. Now I am not saying Monjack has anything to do with this. I wouldn’t know. And I’m sure the guy is in deep mourning. But one can sure speculate that his clear lack of character and background couldn’t have led to the most healthy environment. I really feel bad for Brittany. She was a sweet sweet angel and didn’t deserve anything bad to happen to her ever. May she rest in peace. I will miss her. We will all miss her. She was the most talented and underrated actresses working in film.

The “long list of legal complaints” Hickenlooper refers to included multiple felony warrants for his arrest, including several for credit card fraud in Virginia, and “a massive lawsuit from a British investment firm demanding he pay them more than $500,000,” according to PopEater.

Monjack, meanwhile, issued this statement in response to the suspicions: “It is a real tragedy that success, greed, envy and celebrity are the motivation for attacking my family and character.”

I don't know how I missed it but JG Ballard died in April [right about the time my marriage was completely falling apart - perhaps that's the reason] and I jut now heard about it. I literally got teary eyed when I found out but that soon turned to rage in the bookstore [an emotion that I often feel when I go in there - is it normal to want to sweep rows upon rows of books off of the shelves and kick middle-aged liberals to the floor while screaming 'Where the fuck is your copy of the Collected works of Boyd Rice?']. When I bought the just re-released 'Complete Short Story Collection' ...I got all Larry David and was asking where the JG Ballard memorial display was and I looked around the store to accent my point. I don't even know if the cash handler knew who I was talking about, he kind of laughed in that way that young hipster douche-bags do when they feel insecure and try to turn it around on you. Fucking Powell's books will make displays about people who ride bicycles and other 'People's Republic of Portland' *cough...cocksucker...cough* horseshit but they don't represent for one of the most important authors of all time? Douche-Bag pricks..

If there is any doubt as to what I am trying to say let me make it clear:

Fuck Powell's City of Books and the horse they rode in on for not making a JG Ballard display those prick motherfucking douche-bag pigs.

I mean, seriously, I loved this man. If I ever write anything a tenth as good as his works I will feel like I have finally arrived.

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy was celebrated Saturday for "the good he did, the dream he kept alive," as well as some of the things that he couldn't keep alive, such as poor Mary Jo Kopechne...

Kennedy left the party, driving a 1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88 with one of the women, 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne and later accidentally drove off Dike Bridge into the Poucha Pond inlet, a tidal channel on Chappaquiddick Island. Kennedy escaped the overturned vehicle, swam to safety and left the scene. He did not call authorities until after Kopechne's body was discovered the following day.

Show Synopsis

Opening Dialogue

Kurt and Greg open this impromptu episode by doing some Hip-Hop-apella in the style of Eminem's Lose Yourself. They then go on to discuss Hip-Hop, Beck and Moby and this leads to a discussion of Karaoke. Since it is an impromptu show and no topic was predetermined they decide to talk about the film Wolverine. They warn listeners that there will be film Spoilers and that anyone who has not yet seen the film should tune out.

Kurt and Greg discuss the film Wolverine. This becomes a discussion of the X-Men comic book series and some controversial [at least to comic book fans] decisions made by the creators of the film.

Kurt and Greg then discuss actors who become angry when they are not asked to reprise their roles in remade films especially in the case of the film Lost in Space. The discussion goes back to creative liberties taken in Super Hero films, most notably the replacement of Spiderman's web shooters with organic web production.

'The Limo'

Six Feet Under fans may recognize an early appearance from Peter Krause.

Synopsis [from Wikipedia]

Jerry flies in from Chicago and George arrives to take him home. His car has broken down on the Belt Parkway and the two are stranded. Jerry points out a limousine chauffeur with a sign for someone named O'Brien. Jerry had seen an O'Brien in Chicago complaining to the airport staff that he had to reach Madison Square Garden. Since the real O'Brien's flight is overbooked and he will not be arriving in New York soon, George tells Jerry that since it is such a long wait to get a cab, they should pose as O'Brien and his colleague and take the limo home. George chooses the first name Colin and assumes the identity of O'Brien, as Jerry makes up the name Dylan Murphy. The chauffeur believes them and lets them into the limo. George asks the chauffeur where he is driving to, who says Madison Square Garden and that he has the four passes. George remembers the Knicks are playing Bulls that night at MSG, which must be why O'Brien wanted to get there. Jerry calls up Elaine and tells her to wait with Kramer for them to pick them up for the game, and also tells her to call him and George by their pseudonyms. Jerry and George congratulate each other, and George stumbles over a quotation: "I see things as they are, and I say no ..." (the quotation he is searching for belongs to George Bernard Shaw -- "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why? I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?"), finally asking Jerry, "what do you say when you see something?"

After the call, Jerry and George learn that two of the people the passes were intended for are still coming. The chauffeur stops and a man, Tim (Peter Krause), and a woman, Eva (Suzanne Snyder, who would later play Audrey in season 5's The Pie), get in with them. George feigns sleep and Jerry introduces himself. Eva and Tim tell Jerry that they are great fans of O'Brien's newsletter and book, The Big Game, neither of which has he heard of. Luckily, the two have never seen a picture of O'Brien and have no way of knowing who George really is.

As Kramer and Elaine wait outside the apartment building, Jerry mentions that they will probably miss the tip-off, and Tim wonders if he means "someone's been tipped off". George, interested about the book he supposedly wrote, asks Eva to describe her view of it. She and Tim cite the book's analysis of something called "the game", all its major players, and how the fate of the world depends on it. Eva mentions that O'Brien is making a speech that night, and George nervously reads a faxed copy of it for the first time. Kramer mentions it strange that George and Jerry took a limo when they had the former's car, and wonders why they insist on being called different names.

George reads O'Brien's speech and finds to his and Jerry's dismay that it consists of antisemitism, anti-Zionism and white supremacy. As he continues it, a loud bang is heard outside. Tim pulls out a pistol and exits the car. Eva tells George that she would do anything for him, even die. Tim comes back and says it was just a flat tire. He then adds if someone really were shooting at them, he would be prepared, and pulls out a briefcase of pistols. A news report reveals that Donald O'Brien, head of the regional chapter of the Aryan Union, a high-profile Neo-Nazi organization, is scheduled to make his first public appearance at the Paramount, adjacent to MSG, to deliver the speech at a rally. He is an outspoken Nazi, high admirer of Adolf Hitler, and passionate fascist to the extent of denouncement from David Duke. Crowd control officers have lined up several barricades to keep away hordes of protesters.

Out on the street, Kramer and Elaine run into her friend Dan and his friends, who tell them they are going to the Nazi rally to protest O'Brien. He then mentions no one knows what O'Brien looks like. As George explains to Jerry that he is attracted to Eva, they plan to have the limo drive back to the Upper West Side and get out when they see Elaine and Kramer, who realizes that Jerry must be the O'Brien at the rally, which explains the limo. As it drives past them, Kramer sees Jerry and shouts, "O'Brien!" This attracts Dan, his friends, and other protestors across the street. As Kramer and Elaine dive through the door and they chase the limo down the street, the phone begins ringing. Kramer picks up and hands it to Eva. She listens for a few seconds and tells the others, "It's O'Brien." Tim pulls out his gun and demands that George and Jerry say who they really are, and Jerry and George, and later Elaine, all rapidly (and nervously) attempt to explain themselves at the same time. The car pulls up to the Paramount and the protesters begin rocking it. Dan notices Elaine as one of the passengers, and she awkwardly acknowledges him. George is ushered onto a podium for his speech, and the protesters horde around him as he frantically denies being O'Brien and shouts for Jerry.

While Jerry helps George with a coffee table stain, Elaine must take the subway home; she takes Frank Costanza's TV Guide as reading material. George meets a woman at a furniture refinishing store and takes her to his parents' home, pretending that it is his. Jerry is interested in a Native American woman named Winona, but she is offended when he presents Elaine with a cigar store Indian as a peace offering. Having had sex with his furniture store quarry, George leaves a condom wrapper in his parents' bed; his parents discover not only the wrapper but also the absence of Frank's TV Guide (he is a collector) and punish him by grounding him. Kramer pitches his idea for a coffee table book about coffee tables to Elaine's boss.
